Anticipation to offer “Taster” memberships.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Heard about World Science Fiction Conventions (Worldcons) and think they sound cool but not sure they’re worth the money? Then Taster memberships are for you.

Here’s how it works. Whenever you show up, you go to the convention’s Registration Desk. There you’ll pay for a Day Membership (75–95 CAD), depending on the day of the convention and whether you are buying an adult or a child membership). Your membership badge will be time-stamped. Then you may wander about the convention freely. See the Exhibits, the Art Show, and the Dealers Room. Hear a speaker. Get autographs. Watch a film. Join a filk sing. Go see a program item or two (there will be hundreds over the course of the convention).

If Worldcon really isn’t for you, then just go back to Registration during posted open hours within three hours of your time-stamp and you’ll receive all but $20 of your money back for an adult membership and all but $10 of your money back for a child membership. But if you like what you find and want to hang around the rest of the day and evening, then just stay for the rest of the day. Your badge will let you stay and attend all open events until the next morning. If you want to attend more days, just come back and buy another Day Membership or convert your Day to a Full Membership. It’s easy and safe. And you’ll find out for yourself what all the fuss is about. (We’ve been going for years and there’s so much great stuff to do we can’t imagine anyone wouldn’t want to stay but some people need to try it for themselves to be sure.)

Taster Memberships paid by cash, traveler’s check, or credit card will be refunded immediately. Memberships paid by check will be refunded by mail. We will not issue refunds after registration closes for the day. On days where registration is open until 20:00, no refunds are given after the close of that day’s Registration. We encourage you to purchase by 17:00 on those days, otherwise you will not have the full 3 hours benefit of the taster membership. One Taster Membership per person. We will accept US dollars as well as Canadian dollars at Registration at the convention. Due to the volatility of the currency exchange market, at the door rates in US dollars will only be set a few days before the convention.

The 67th World Science Fiction Convention, known as Anticipation, will take place in Montréal, Québec, Canada from Thursday, August 6th through Monday, August 10th, 2009.

Anticipation offre inscriptions «d’essai».

Avez-vous entendu des congrès mondiaux de la science fiction (Worldcons) et vous pensez qu’ils semblent super mais vous êtes non sûr s’ils valent l’argent? Puis inscriptions «d’essai» sont une bonne option pour vous.

Voici comment ça marche. Quand vous arrivez au congrès, vous allez au bureau d’enregistrement. Là, vous allez payer le coût d’une inscription d’une journée (75–95 CAD, dépendant du jour du congrès). Votre badge d’inscription sera horodaté. Après ça, vous pouvez errer la convention librement, voir les objets exposés, la galerie d’art et la salle des commerçants. Vous pouvez écouter à un orateur, obtenir des autographes, regarder à un film, engager dans un chant filk ou aller voir un article d’un programme ou deux (il y en aura des centaines sur le cours du congrès).

Si Worldcon n’est vraiment pas pour vous, vous avez seulement qu’à retourner à l’enregistrement en dans trois heures de votre horodatage et vous allez recevoir un remboursement sauf $20. Mais si vous aimez ce que vous voyez et vous voulez passer le reste de la journée et de la soirée, restez pour le reste de la journée. Votre badge va vous laisser rester et assister à tous les événements ouverts jusqu’au prochain matin (ceci inclue la cérémonie les Prix Hugo ou la Mascarade). Si vous voulez assister plus qu’une journée, vous avez juste à retourner et acheter une autre inscription de jour ou vous pouvez convertire votre inscription de jour à une inscription complète.

C’est facile et sûr. Et vous découvrirez pour vous-même c’est quoi tout le chichi. (Nous assistons depuis des années et il y a tant de choses extraordinaires à faire que nous croyons qu’il y a personne qui ne voudrait pas rester. Mais il y a des gens qui doivent l’essayer eux-mêmes affin d’être sûr).

Les inscriptions avant-goût payées en argent, chèque de voyage, ou carte de crédit sera remboursées immédiatement. Les inscriptions payées par chèque seront remboursées par la poste. Aucun remboursement après 17h00 de chaque jour. Une inscription avant-goût par personne.

Au congrès, nous accepterons l’argent américain ainsi que l’argent canadien à l’enregistrement. Dû à la volatilité du marché d’échange monétaire, les taux à la porte de l’agent américain sera fixés quelques jours avant la convention.
